Monarch Butterfly Wibg Necklace, Monarch Pendant
This butterfly pendant is made with the recycled forwing of a Monarch butterfly that has been found naturally expired. It is slightly imperfect, showing this butterfly has been places. I soldered the wing smooth and added droplets of solder around the wing and put an oxidized gunmetal like patina. Both sides can be worn to change the look so it is like having two pendants for the price of one.
ALL Butterfly and Moth Specimens are purchased through a licensed supplier through Environment Canada. The source of these specimens is attained from global butterfly farms. The winged butterflies & moths fly in freedom until naturally expired where they are collected by workers and packaged for shipping. These farms provide employment, education and re-population of the reared species back into their locales.
